Bennie Bowman and Bowman Poultry had 26 entries in the 2003 Indiana State Fair for the poultry open show held in Indianapolis in August.

For his Silver Spangled Hamburgs, he was awarded champion continental large fowl, best of breed and reserve best of breed. His Black Hamburgs received best of variety and reserve best of variety. 

For the Single Comb Dark Brown Leghorns, he received reserve champion of the Mediterraneans, best of breed, best of variety and reserve best of variety. 

For his Sumatras, he received champion for All Other Comb Clean Leg Bantam, best of breed and reserve best of breed.

For his Mille Fleur d'uccle, he received best of breed and best of variety.

In Porcelain d'uccles, he received reserve best of breed and best of variety.
